The Bikini Faux Pas and What You Should Remember
Did you know that a study made in 2009 observing how men respond to pictures of scantily clad women revealed that their brains register them as objects and not as persons? And in another consumer research study, they coined the term “bikini effect” to refer to the brain impulses of men showing impatience when they see pictures of women in skimpy bikinis or lingerie. The same brain impulses seeking for immediate reward also apply to men’s reaction towards money and food. Now these revelations can fire up passions among feminists on the issue of women as sex objects.
But who wants to go the beach looking like a nun? Even the good sisters would refrain from wearing their traditional habit when they go out on the beach. If tutus were made for ballet, then bikinis were made for the sun and water. It’s not necessarily all about getting male attention, but it’s the most practical attire to slip into when you go out there on the beach or by the pool. The searing heat of summer even lures ladies to wear their bikinis for backyard barbecues or when lounging on their roof decks.
Dealing with the male impulses should be the least concern of women who love to wear bikinis. However, the admiring or lustful stares are certain that is why it’s essential to avoid committing those social errors when clad in bikinis.
Number one is to make sure that your bikini fits perfectly. Avoid using bikinis with worn out strings or loose bottoms. The shoulder straps should cling comfortably and not loosely. The bottoms should not ride up when walking or moving around. Secondly, don’t forget to wax or shave the unsightly hair that may shoot up from inside your bottoms. Even King-Kong would roar with disapproval on this social error. Thirdly, choose your colors well. Remember that light is perfect for the light skinned and bright and bold colors are not only attractive, but it will focus attention away from those body parts that you wish to obscure. Mix matching can also make a difference in your style like matching printed tops with plain bottoms or a striped bottom with plain tops. Lastly, don’t forget to use a good sunscreen to protect your skin including the parts that get covered.
Confidence is not enough when wearing a bikini. Make sure that you are wearing the right one that is perfect for your body. Don’t become the victim of sick jerks who take advantage of embarrassing situations like when bikini strings snap and your private parts get displayed. They can easily get photos of that and download them in the internet for the whole world to feast on. So be confident but be smart.
